Carsyn joined Southern Diabetes Care in 2024, bringing a wealth of experience and a patient-focused approach to endocrinology. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2019 following a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2015. Prior to joining Southern Diabetes Care, Carsyn gained valuable experience as a nurse practitioner in family practice and urgent care settings. As a bedside nurse, she preferred the high-pressure, fast-paced environment of emergency departments and a cardiac step-down unit.
Carsyn finds great fulfillment in watching her patients achieve their health goals. She firmly believes that successful outcomes depend on patients' understanding of their chronic conditions and individualized treatment plans. She enjoys seeing patients develop a sense of confidence in managing their care. She states, "From the start of my career as a nurse, I have made it my ambition to love people well and care for them accordingly. God's hand in leading me to Southern Diabetes Care started long before I ever began nursing school, and I am forever grateful to be a part of this team."
In her personal life, Carsyn enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children. She is a self-proclaimed "Granny" who can usually be found singing old hymns and crocheting with a hot cup of coffee and something good cookin' in the kitchen!
